I was raised in the part of Florida that was abundant in cattle ranches and rodeos. liz-as-a-10-year-oldand-her-horses It didn’t take long for my father, who was a good horseman and well respected by his peers, to see my equine interest and love for horses and the cowboy way of life.  Consequently he had me on horseback at the age of ten.  At his urging, in my early youth, I competed in several disciplines including hunter jumper and other competitions, to pursue a more in-depth understanding of horsemanship. When I was thirteen I was training my first barrel horse, entering youth rodeos, and competing in barrel racing, pole bending, and goat tying.liz-early-teens-with-some-trophies When I graduated from high school, I enrolled in college to continue my business career.  I continued rodeoing as a member of the Florida Women Rodeo Associations, competing in barrel racing and women’s bull riding.  I continued competing, and eventually won the association’s all around championship.  I then went into a private business, but still was horseback, and did some competing around a working schedule.

I now live in Hill County, Texas, where Kilroy and I established the Cross K Ranch. all-girl-ranch-rodeo-team-liz-in-middle I train my own horses, and compete often in all-girl ranch rodeos and SHOT events in Texas.  Also you have often heard me on XM Satellite Radios “Willie’s Place” channel 13 doing all of the female voice over’s, as well as co-hosting the early morning show with Kilroy.  I can tell you it’s a full time job keeping Kilroy on his toes! He is always up to something, always helping someone, or having a guest over to visit and share their times and lives with us.  One thing for certain, life at the Cross K is never boring, there is always something new and exciting going on.  In the last six months I have dug up lots of old photos of us in previous lives, from very young to now, it was a hoot looking back at yesteryear and seeing how different it was back then.

For sure, there are always horse stories and tales woven into the fabric of our experiences, horses are like candy, you can never have just one!

I love taking photos, so I will keep on adding more to the galleries as time goes on, just to keep you up to date.
